Basic Fried Soft Shell Crab
- 4 medium soft shell crabs, cleaned and patted dry
- Seasoned Flour for dredging
- Butter for frying
- Preheat a large, heavy bottom frying pan over medium to medium-high heat for about 3 minutes.
- Add butter in the pan for frying, about 3 to 4 Tbsp. While the butter is melting, dredge the crabs in flour and shake to remove excess.
- Add the crabs, top sides down. Cook for about 4 to 5 minutes until well browned (crabs will turn a reddish-color) and turn over. Cook until the second side is browned, and crabs are cooked through, another 5 to 6 minutes.
- Remove and drain. Serve hot..
