Latin "guttalata" means small spots.
 
Common Names:
Diamond turbot, turbot, diamond flounder, flounder
Identifying Characteristics:
Right-eyed flat fish. Diamond shaped, yellowish patch on bottom side. Top side is light green to green-brown to brown. On the dark side, bright blue spots.
Range and Locations:
Pacific species. From Northern California to Gulf of California. From surf zone to 150 ft. Most common in shallower. Found in bays, river mouths, surf, mud or sandy bottoms.
Stats:
Max sizes aprox. 18 inches in length to 4 lbs. in weight.
Market Forms:

Fresh. Excellent food quality.
