| Identifying
Characteristics: |
Slender
body. Blunt, flat heads signify the males. Brilliantly
colored. When seen in the water, irredescant colors
of blues, greens and yellows; almost appear to be
neon or electric in colors. Deeply forked tail is
typically yellow. Typically spotted with blue to green
to black all over body.

In
all tropical and subtropical waters. Commonly orientated
to floating debris such as weed lines, kelp patties
and floating objects.

Up
to 85 lbs. Extremely fast growing fish. Short lived.

Forms: |
Whole
fresh, fresh fillets, frozen fillets. Food value
is excellent eating. One of the most sport fishes
around its ranges. Often seen leaping.
